DO not touch your piercing for the first 24 hours.
Daily Cleaning
-Always wash your hands before touching your fresh piercing.
-Spray a sterile saline solution on both the front and back of the wound twice a day. We recommend the Pierced Moose Saline Wash available at Strange World Tattoo.
-Gently wipe away any build up and pat dry with a new disposable cotton swab or paper towel.
-Keep your pillowcases and bedding clean.
What to Avoid
-Do not move the jewelry around. There is no need to twist, turn or push the jewelry around. You will only irritate the wound and damage tissue that is trying to heal.
-Avoid touching the piercing and the jewelry. Your hands are dirty!
-No Swimming during the healing process. This includes pools, hot tubs, lakes, rivers and avoid submerging in bath tubs during the healing as well. Showers are the best option.
-Do not remove the starter jewelry. You may think your piercing is healed before it actual is because it will heal from the outside first.
-Do not use strong products on your piercing such as rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide.
-Don’t sleep directly on a new piercing.
-Avoid using make-up, creams, oils, hairspray and other beauty or wellness products in or around your new piercing. Be careful with hairbrushes and headphones that may catch or put pressure on the wound as well.
