HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET A TATTOO?
You need to be at least 18 years old to get tattooed. NO exceptions...even with parents approval. A valid form of ID will be required.
CAN I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT OVER THE PHONE OR BY EMAIL?
The answer is no. You must come into the shop during regular business hours to book all appointments. Please bring any reference material you have. This could be an image from the internet, a photo, drawing or even a favourite t-shirt. Our artists will work with you to create a custom piece of art.
DO I NEED TO LEAVE A DEPOSIT?
Yes. All appointments require a deposit of $100. This deposit will come off the price of the tattoo at the time of completion.
*Please note that all deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. Should you need to reschedule your appointment, you may do so with 72 HOURS notice.
WHAT IF I LIVE OUT OF TOWN?
We do allow those who live outside the city to book appointments without coming into the shop. A combination of email correspondence, phone calls and a deposit in the form of a money order (sorry, no cheques) , will allow you to book an appointment. DO YOU SELL GIFT CERTIFICATES?
Yes. Gift certificates are available at the reception desk anytime during regular business hours.
Piercing
Strange World Tattoo is lucky to have George Boletta as our shop's piercer. She is friendly, professional and good at what she does!
Piercings can be done on a walk-in basis or by booking an appointment over the phone. 403-282-8181.
Sterilization
Strange World Tattoo utilizes the highest standards of sterilization and cross contamination prevention procedures possible.
Strange World Tattoo is a clean, ALBERTA HEALTH SERVICES APPROVED shop.
Protocols we follow...
-Autoclave sterilization of all instruments at the shop. Autoclaving is the only acceptable form of sterilization for a tattoo shop.
-Autoclave spore testing is done once a month by an independent laboratory. Test results are posted at the front counter.
-Each item sterilized has indicator tape to verify it has been processed properly.
-Each autoclve load is tested with comply strips to ensure proper sterilization conditions have been met.
-All items that may be touched during a procedure are barrier wrapped to prevent cross contamination.
-All needles are pre-packaged sterile and single use. Needles are disposed of immediately after each tattoo procedure into a biohazard sharps container.
-All tattooists wear disposable aprons during tattoo procedures.
